Year one have been focusing on identifying the parts of a plant. To do this, they took a Petunia and dissected it into its main parts: roots stem, flower, and leaf. The children use their prior knowledge from reception to quickly and accurately do this. Following this, the children learnt about the functions of the plant parts and were able to discuss how they help the plant.
