Year 4 had great fun making clay creatures, mud paint and mini habitats for worms!
Exploring Watercolour
This week in Art we have begun our new Art topic - Exploring Watercolour. We have used the watercolours to try out a variety of techniques and to experiment with colour mixing.
Hedgehogs, bugs and mud!
Year three, had great fun exploring for bugs, we had some wonderful discussions about why we are now finding less bugs, we all agreed that now it’s getting colder the bugs are hidden or underground to keep warm for the winter.
We got messy with mud, making our paint and made some hedgehogs…
Anti bullying week!
Today our very creative year 1 children created their very own anti bullying posters and talked about the importance of being kind and friendly.
Our children this week have been empowered by exploring the meaning of bullying and how to STAMP IT OUT!!
Lets get messy!
Year 4 ,today, in after school club got very messy! They made wonderful pattern paintings by rolling conkers in paint, made patterns with leaves, hunted for bugs and dug for worms!
Forest School, conker rolling! ( After school club)
Storm Babet hit us this week making it a little wet and windy to go outdoors so instead we had a craft session. We used conkers to make patterns and leaves to create hedgehogs. We enjoyed rolling the conkers to make patterns, do you like them?
Listen to your conscience
Year 6 showed their understanding of Isabella’s thoughts as she breaks a promise made to her best friend, inspired by our class text ‘The Girl of Ink and Stars’.
Amazing artists!
Today we have been exploring different mediums. We have used pencils/handwriting pens to complete observational drawings of the objects we collected last week to create replicas of Andy Goldsworthy’s work. Today we focused on continual line drawing and the results were fantastic.
Spirals in the Sun
Year 1 have thoroughly enjoyed their first art lesson of the year!we learnt about using our whole body to draw, then practised this drawing spirals outside. It was great to see them choosing to work together to create multicoloured spirals too!
Freeze-frame fun
Today we had lots of fun role playing and freeze framing our new story of Little Red Riding Hood. The children all got into role and thought about the actions and behaviours of each of they characters.
Role on the wall
In preparation for our last piece of writing, a journalistic report, we brainstormed all we knew about a key eyewitness in the story of ‘Oranges in No Man’s Land’.
Game Designer!
Definitely my favourite kind of lesson, the children have been creating their own design for a game today, we’ve had creative freedom to make an environment we love with control over the sky, ceiling, floor and even fire/water obstacles! The children have thoroughly enjoyed this and it was great…
