What a super week we have had and the children have come to school with such smiley faces, we still have some tears now and again but I have been so proud with how the children have settled.

We are in Duckling Class so we have been learning a new song based around Ducklings and that song is 'Five Little Ducks', I have been amazed at the children's ability to show five fingers and begin to count down one each time. The children have gained lots of confidence and are now singing infront of their peers during our carpet sessions.

We will do more focused learning on the song next week ready for our classroom display, this week we have continued to get to know each other and modelled to the children the different activities both inside and outside. The children have loved exploring the outdoors and the different areas.

The children now understand what the use of their dojo is and love to know that you can see when they get a green dojo.

We have also begun doing more adult directed tasks which the children were more than happy to do, one of the tasks this week was for the children to show their drawing skills, we looked to see if the children had a dominate hand, how they help their pencil, how they represented their marks and what colours they used. Over the academic year we will continue to work on the childrens pencil grip and their pencil control and to be able to make more obvious pictures and marks.

Here is our floor book for this week's learning.

Next Monday is a bank holiday so we can pay respects to her Majesty the Queen for her Funeral, school will be open on Tuesday as normal.

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.
