Good morning Year 1! :) Thank you to all of you who sent in your work yesterday. We especially enjoyed looking at your London landmarks- it is great to see you have been working so hard! Please remember to send your work in daily to your teachers.
Before we start our learning today, we are going to wake ourselves up with some Just Dance.
Phonics – (9-9:30)
Hopefully we are now awake and ready to learn. We will begin our learning today with some phonics.
In phonics we are focusing on the diagraph 'ew' as in screw and flew . Follow the flipchart to complete the activities.
English (9:30-10:30)
In English, we are continuing with our work on Owl Babies.
This week, we are looking at setting descriptions. We are going to be writing a setting description about the forest where the owls live.
We will be making sure to include appropriate adjectives what we can see, hear and feel in the forest.
Break time (10:30 - 10:45)
Well done Year 1, you are doing a great job, now time for a well-deserved break.
Grab yourself a drink and a snack and give yourself a brain break.
Maths (10:45-11:45)
In Maths today, we are continuing our learning all about capacity. We are going to be comparing different amounts of capacity.
Number and Patterns (11.45-12.00)
Today in Numbers and Patterns we are going to be looking at doubling using part part whole models.
Lunch time (12:00-1:00)
Reading (1:00-1:30)
Today in Reading Skills, we are continuing with the story 'The Snail and the Whale'. We are going to be looking at different VIPERS questions.
Science (1.45-3.00)
Today in Science we are going to be learning about the properties of materials and using vocabulary such as rough, hard, soft, shiny, dull.
Story Time
Well done Year 1 on another fabulous day of home learning. Its time to sit back, relax and enjoy a story read by Miss Curtis. Today's story is called 'Giraffes can't dance'. Keep up the good work Year 1 and we will see back back online tomorrow.
