Wednesday 13th January
Good morning Year 1! :) We are half way through the week and you have shown great determination this week with your home learning. Thank you to all of you who sent in your work yesterday - it is great to see you have been working so hard! Please remember to send your work in daily to your teachers. Before we start our learning today, we are going to wake ourselves up with a workout with Joe Wicks.
Phonics – (9-9:30)
Hopefully we are now awake and ready to learn. We will begin our learning today with some phonics. In phonics we are focusing on the diagraph 'ir' as in girl and whirl . Follow the flipchart to complete the activities.
English (9:30-10:30)
In English, we are continuing with our work on Owl Babies. Today, we are going to continue to retell the story focusing on the middle section. We will be looking at using different conjunctions within our writing.
Break time (10:30 - 10:45)
Well done Year 1, you are doing a great job, now time for a well-deserved break. Grab yourself a drink and a snack and give yourself a brain break.
Maths (10:45-11:45)
In Maths today, we are learning about ordering numbers. We will be looking closely at the number of tens and ones in numbers to help us.
Numbers and Patterns (11:45-12:00)
In Numbers and Patterns, we are learning number bonds to 8.
Lunch time (12:00-1:00)
Reading (1:00-1:30)
Today for your reading skills we are carrying on with 'The Queen's hat'. We will be looking at different VIPERS questions. Please follow the flipchart to help you.
Science (1.45- 3.00)
Today in Science we are going to be looking at different materials and identifying materials around our home.
Story Time
Take some time to relax after your hard work and listen to your daily story. Today's story is called 'Back to earth with a bump'
