Good morning Year 1!
What a great start to the week we had yesterday! A huge well done and thank you to all of you who sent your work in yesterday.
Please remember to send your work in daily to you class teachers. Your work should be uploaded to your class dojo portfolio after each lesson completed so that it can be marked by your teacher and progress given.
As this week is the is 'Children's Mental Health' week we are going to be starting our morning off with some cosmic yoga to get our minds ready and focused for the day ahead. Remember this week is all about expressing ourselves and being proud of who YOU are! You are all special and unique.
This week, in phonics we are going to be looking at split diagraphs. Today we are going to be focusing on the split diagraph 'e_e' such as theme and delete.
English 9.30 - 10.30
In English today we will finish our published write. We will finish our non-chronological report all about barn owls using our work from last week. Today we will focus on writing about what they eat and where they live. Remember your published write forms part of your assessment so remember to include all those Year 1 skills.
Break time 10.30 - 10.45
A fabulous start to the morning Year 1. You are all doing an amazing job. If you haven't already done so, remember to upload and send your morning work through to your class portfolio. It's time for a well earned break. Go and grab yourself a drink and a healthy snack and give yourself a brain break.
Maths 10.45 - 11.45
In Maths, we are going to be learning to count in our multiples of 2, 5 and 10. We will be looking at using repeated addition, arrays and applying to problem solving and reasoning. Today we will be learning about multiplication, focusing on multiples of 2.
Numbers and Patterns 11.45 - 12.00
This week in Numbers and Patterns we will be focusing on our rapid recall of number bonds to 10.
Lunch time - 12.00 - 12.45
Reading Skills 1.15 - 1.30
On Tuesday's and Thursday's you will complete a Reading skills lesson. Today you are going to be watching a short film and answering some VIPERS question based upon the story so make sure you are watching and listening to the film carefully.
RE 2.15 - 3.00
Today in RE, we are going to be looking at stories from the Quran and discussing how Muslims use these stories in their everyday lives. We will be looking at the story of 'The Crying Camel' and retelling the story through drama.
