Hello Year 6!
In case no-one has told you today...you are wonderful!
We are going to start the day with your Grammar lesson. Today, you will be looking at formal and informal language as well as using hyphens.
Remember, informal language is mostly used when you are talking to your friends for example and formal language would be if you were talking to the Queen (that's how I try to remember the difference!)
Hyphens are used to hyphenate a word to clarify the meaning. Most of the hyphenated words that you will be using today are all compound adjectives so look for the adjectives that you can join together!
You can always watch the video below to help you with your work!
Now it is time for your Reading lesson where you will be reading the text, A Gift.
Remember to annotate or mark the text to help you find the answers.
Watch the video below to help you.
Before we begin our English lesson, let's read Chapter 2 of War Horse and answer retrieval questions.
Have a 15 minute break after all of your hard work this morning. Remember to stay hydrated and have a healthy snack.
Now it's time for Maths and today we are using division to solve problems. Your questions will be word questions today but please do not worry about all of the words. Remember to just find the key information and highlight or circle it!
To continue with your marvellous maths work, we are now going to complete Arithmetic. Just like yesterday, you will be completing mixed arithmetic questions to really build up your knowledge and pace.
Watch the video to help, especially with number 7 (long division!)
Time for lunch!
Remember to take time away from any screens and enjoy your lunch! Stay hydrated to keep that brain working! Be ready for your mindfulness at 1:30.
To get you prepared for your afternoon's learning, I would like you to listen to the music from the video below as we try some deep listening. For deep listening to be successful, you must fully immerse yourself into the music by listening to every note, every beat, every sound.
This afternoon, you are going to complete Encompass. We are going to build on from last week's lesson and develop our Geography skills even further!
Read through the Flipchart below and complete the 3 tasks.
For task 2, if you cannot print the maps or cannot annotate them on a screen, please just write the country and then its capital city next to it!
To finish off your Tuesday, have a listen to the story below, 'If I Ran for President'.
Well done on another superb day of learning Year 6, remember to get a good nights sleep so you are ready for another brilliant day tomorrow!
