Good morning Year 1! :) Happy Thursday! Thank you to all of you who sent in your work yesterday - it is great to see you have been working so hard! Please remember to send your work in daily to your teachers. Before we start our learning today, we are going to warm up with some Kids Cosmic Yoga.
Hopefully we are now calm and ready to learn. We will begin our learning today with some phonics. In phonics we are focusing on the 'ue' digraph as in 'glue' and 'tissue'. Follow the flipchart to complete the activities.
In English, we are continuing with our work on Owl Babies.
This week, we are writing a non-chronological report about Barn Owls. Today, we are writing about what Barn Owls eat, focusing on verbs.
Break time (10:30 - 10:45)
Well done Year 1, you are doing a great job, now time for a well-deserved break.
Grab yourself a drink and a snack and give yourself a brain break
Today in Maths, we are going to be doing a 'Fix it' lesson. As we found our lesson on turns a little challenging yesterday, we will be spending another lesson learning about whole, half and quarter turns.
Numbers and Patterns (11.45-12.00)
Today in Numbers and Patterns we are going to be learning how to find two less than a given number.
Lunch (12.00- 1.00)
Reading Skills (1.00-1.30)
Today in Reading Skills we are going to continue to look at the story 'Cave Baby'. We are going to look at some more VIPERS questions.
This week in Encompass we are going to be looking closely at the seas that surround the United Kingdom.
Today's story time is a book called 'The Day the Crayons Came Home' by Oliver Jeffers. Sit back, relax and enjoy some relaxation after all of your hard work.
