Good morning Year 1! :) I hope you are all feeling awake on this cold Thursday morning. Thank you to all of you who sent in your work yesterday - it is great to see you have been working so hard! Please remember to send your work in daily to your teachers.

Before we start our learning today, we are going to have a calming start to the day with some cosmic yoga.

Phonics (9.00-9.30)


Hopefully we are now awake and ready to learn. We will begin our learning today with some phonics. 

In phonics we are focusing on the diagraph 'oe' as in toe and heroes .                                      Follow the flipchart to complete the activities.

            In English, we are continuing with our work on Owl Babies.

This week, we are going to be writing a setting description of the forest where the owls love. Today, we are going to be writing sentences to describe the woodland setting, using a range of sentence openers

Maths (10:45-11:45)


In Maths this week we are learning all about capacity - which is how we measure how much a container can hold. Today, we are going to be measuring capacity using standard units

Reading Skills (1.00-1.30)


Today in Reading Skills we are going to continue to look at the story 'The Snail and The Whale'. We are going to look at some more VIPERS questions.

Encompass (1.45-3.00)


This week in Encompass we are going to be looking closely at the four countries within the United Kingdom. We will be learning all about capital cites.

Today's story time is a book called 'Stick man' by Julia Donaldson. Sit back, relax and enjoy some relaxation after all of your hard work.
