Good morning Year 1! :) We are nearly at the end of week. Thank you to all of you who sent in your work yesterday - it is great to see you have been working so hard! Please remember to send your work in daily to your teachers. Before we start our learning today, we are going to focus our brains with some cosmic yoga.
Phonics – (9-9:30)
Hopefully we are now awake and ready to learn. We will begin our learning today with some phonics.
In phonics we are focusing on the diagraph 'aw' as in saw and raw. Follow the flipchart to complete the activities.
English (9:30-10:30)
In English, we are continuing with our work on Owl Babies.
Today, we are going to be writing the end to our story,
We will be making sure to include the correct punctuation - capital letters, full stops, finger spaces and some of us will be using exclamation marks.
Break time (10:30 - 10:45)
Well done Year 1, you are doing a great job, now time for a well-deserved break.
Grab yourself a drink and a snack and give yourself a brain break.
Maths (10:45-11:45)
In Maths today, we are learning about comparing numbers. We are using the greater than, less than and equal to symbols to help us compare.
Numbers and Patterns (11:45-12:00)
In Numbers and Patterns, we are learning about number bonds to 9.
Lunch time (12:00-1:00)
Reading (1:00-1:30)
Today for your reading we are continuing with 'The Queen's hat'.
We will continue to look at various VIPERS questions about the text.
Encompass (1.45-3.00)
Today in Encompass we are going to be looking and identifying the 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom. We will be looking at maps, flags and symbols which represent each country.
