Hello lovelies, this morning we will start as we do every morning, recapping both phase 2 and phase 3 sounds. What is a digraph? What is a trigraph?



Once you have recapped your letter sounds, we would like you to recap your letter names. Each letter of the alphabet has a letter sound and a letter name. Can you now point randomly to a letter. ‘My name is … my sound is ..’

Example: ‘My name is A my sound is a’



Now we will look at our memory words



How many of the High Frequency Words do you know now? Go through and see which one you can read without sounding out.



This morning we are going to recap some of our previously taught sounds. We learnt so many new sounds last term we need to recap so we can move on and keep learning. At the start of the week we recapped ‘ai’ ‘ee’ ‘igh’ ‘oa’.

Now I would like you to write 3 words for each sound we have recapped. Can you think of your own word, which contains the sound? Remember to write in pre cursive and on the line smiley Depending on your child’s writing ability you may want to write less or more than 3.



Can you choose one word for each sound and out it into a caption? Re read every word/ caption you write.


If you struggled with any of the sounds, please make this a focus sound for the week. Do not forget to send your pictures to your teacher J
