We will start as we always do, by recognising our own name.
By now your child should be beginning to recognise their own name from a small selection of different names .
To make this a little trickier you might want to write some more name cards that look similar to their own names.
This will ensure that they are looking at their whole name rather than just selected letters.
Next, I would like you to recap the letter sounds video. See if you can join in with the words and the actions.
I would like you to recap your alliteration names.
Can you think of a different silly sentence using words that start with the same initial sound as your name?
Next, I would like you to play a listening game.
Gather some noisy objects from around your home (at least 5 different noisy objects).
These might be instruments, cutlery, pans, cups - anything you can find to make a sound with.
I would like you to explore the different sounds that you can make with them, then your grown up will cover them up and you will close your eyes.
Your grown up will make a sound with one of the noisy items (that you should not be able to see) and it is your job to listen carefully and tell your grown up which item they are using.
Take this in turns with your grown up to test them too.
