After a week off it is important for the children to recap their previously learning, begin with the phase 2 sounds and the phase 3 sounds which we have learnt.

From last half term we noticed that the children needed to recap letter names not only letter sounds, like I always say the alphablocks have their own name and sound just as the letters of the alphabet do. Use the video below as a recap:

Now at random point to an alphablock can the children say the letter name and the letter sound.

Now I want the children to practise their pre cursive letter formation, making sure all letters start on the line in one fluid motion, ascenders should be tall and descenders need to go under the line.

Now for the children to write words containing 4 sounds which they were finding difficult before the half term, the chidren need to listen careful as they segment to spell and need to read what they have written to make sure it makes sense.
