Phonics

If you are unable to join today's live phonics session here is what we are focusing on:

To begin recap previously taught sounds, I have noticed that the children are not pronouncing all sounds correctly and are adding 'er' at the end such as 'mer, ner and ter', if sounds are not said correctly this makes reading and spelling difficult.

Jolly Phonics Letter Sounds (British English)

Listen to the 42 letter sounds of Jolly Phonics, spoken in British English. Each letter sound is clearly spoken twice, before an example word is given.Perfec...

Now to recap reading the memory words and also the first 100 high frequency words.

Today we are recapping previous learning, the sounds ch, sh and th. Firstly we want the children to read words which contain these sounds:

Now to write the words for each picture below, using their segmenting for spelling skill and pre cursive handwriting:

If you could write these words, could you choose a few pictures and write a sentence about them? Remember to listen carefully to the sounds and use your finger spaces after every word.

Send your work to portfolio so your teacher can see it and comment and you can now enjoy your snack and break time.
