We will start as we always do, by recognising our own name.
Please write 5+ different name cards (including your child's name) for your child to recognise and select their own name from.
The quantity of name cards should vary depending on how easily your child is able to recognise their own name. This should be being increased gradually.
Today in phonics we are going to begin with recapping body percussion.
I would like you to sing the song 'Pat a cake pat a cake'
I would like you to use body percussion to clap or tap your knees along to the rhythm.
You might want to do this with a partner. Have a look at the video below to see how.
Next, we are going to explore some different sounds we can make with our own voice.
With your grown up I would like you to see if you can make the sounds of:
- A car
- A ghost
- Bubbles popping
- A mouse
- A clock
Excellent!
Send me a video so that I can send you some dojo's!
Finally, I am going to leave you with this video below to have a look at ready for some letter sounds blending over the next few days.
Listen carefully and see if you can think of any different words beginning with these sounds!
