In phonics today we are going to recap on our learning about alliteration!
We haven't done this since before our December break, but you were fantastic at it so I am sure you will pick it up quickly again.
Remember alliteration is when each word begins with the same sound.
We made our own alliteration names and you created my alliteration names- "Marvellous Miss Finn" or "Amazing Abi".
Can you remember what your alliteration name is?
This morning I would like you to create a 'Silly Sound Soup!'
Get a bowl and a spoon and go on a hunt around your house to find 3 items that start with the 's' sound.
My 'Silly Sound Soup' had a pair of sunglasses, a sunshine, a stick and a seahorse in it. How silly! I gave it a biiiig mix and sang the silly soup song-
"We're making lots of silly soup, we're making soup that silly! We're going to put it in the fridge to make it nice and chilly!"
What items did you find for your Silly Sound Soup?
You might want to making a Silly Sound Soup of items beginning with a different sound.
Don't forget to send me lots of photographs so I can see your Silly Sound Soup!
NOTE: Grown-ups, please be aware we are not concentrating on recognising the letter in this task- children do not need to see or be able to recognise the letter 's', they simply need to be able to recognise the sound of the letter 's'. Emphasise the sound to help them to hear the sound- 'sssssss'.
