This letter is to remind you of the current situation and to provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
Following the announcement on Thursday 26th November 2020, Stoke on Trent is in Tier 3 from Wednesday 3rd December 2020. We want to ensure that all staff and pupils get to spend their holidays 23rd – 27th December visiting their chosen bubbles and we urge all families to ensure they are following the latest Tier 3 guidance.
School will remain open and, providing your child remains well, they can continue to attend school as normal. All children will come into school, including those who were previously shielding, unless that have medical advice to the contrary.
Education is really important in any child's development; it is important that we now continue to build momentum, through regular attendance every day, to help our pupils to continue to make progress and work through the curriculum.
I am pleased to say that some year groups have had excellent attendance so far. This is fantastic as we know the link between attendance and academic achievement. It is important we all work together to ensure no further disruption to your child's education.
Please follow the NHS guidelines and do not send your child in if they or anyone in their household is displaying symptoms of Covid 19 or if they or anyone in their household has tested positive for Covid-19 https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at- home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19- infection
Please also follow the rules for Tier 3, at all times, as outlined overleaf, so that we can keep our community safe.
I know that we can work together as a team: parents, pupils and staff at Waterside Primary to ensure excellent attendance for all and a safe, healthy and happy community.
