Following feedback in the parent surveys, we have been outside this week when the children are arriving and leaving, handing out Safer Parking leaflets, and encouraging people to think about the impact of poor parking on other road users. On Tuesday we were joined by the LA Traffic Wardens, who will now be visiting the school on a weekly (minimum) basis to support the initiative. Feedback from parents and the local community has been positive, with many appreciating the safer access to the school on foot, with clear pathways and lines of vision to cross the road.
Quotes received include:
" It's so much easier to cross, thank you" " It must be possible to park safely not on the lines, because there's no cars stopping on them now"
" Thank you, I don't mind parking down the street now I know we can cross safely" " You're doing a great job, keep it up!"
Remind your children, if you park down the road and walk back to the gates, the children can log it as "Park & Stride" on the Travel Tracker in class, towards their badges!! We will be continuing to monitor the drop-off zones daily to sustain the improvements.
