As the end of term is approaching, we would like to share the staffing structure for 2019-2020. The children have had an incredible year in 2018-2019 and this has resulted in our school being awarded outstanding by Ofsted in all areas of the framework.
We are excited for September, as the school continues to grow and work on the school extension commences over the summer holiday. We anticipate the extension to be ready for 25th October 2019.
From September, we will have a bigger reception cohort, an additional Year 1 and 2 class and also will be taking additional children into Year 3 and 4. We will continue to split Year 5 and 6 into four classes to ensure the outstanding progress remains for all pupils and they are well prepared for the next stages of their education.
This academic year we are saying goodbye to two teachers.
Miss Smith, current Year 3 teacher, is relocating to Cardiff with her partner to start a new chapter of their lives. We are sad to see Miss Smith go. Miss Smith is an outstanding teacher who has had significant impact of the education of many Waterside pupils. We wish her all the best.
Miss Roberts, current Year 5 teacher, is reducing her hours into supply teaching, to suit family needs. We are extremely sad that Miss Roberts will not be with us on a permanent basis. She is an exceptional teacher who has been with us for eight years, driving forward improvements. However, the delightful news is that Miss Roberts will be staying with Waterside one day a week in September, so children will still see her.
The classes for September are listed below and your child’s class has been ticked. We are excited to continue driving forward to provide the best education we can. I am really looking forward to September and what the children will achieve – it will be amazing.
