Morning Task
Friday is of course PE Day for us in Reception, normally on a Friday morning Mr Franklin comes into school to teach us PE as that cannot happen you will have to do your PE lesson at home.
Firstly I would like the children to get dressed for PE by themselves, the children dressing themselves is a very important skill they should be able to do on their own and is fantastic for the gross and fine motor skills.
Once you are all changed it is time to begin!
We always start with a warm up, firstly the children should put their hands on their chest, can they feel their heart beating, is it beating fast or slow? Can they talk about their breathing and the movement of the chest?
Now we are going to begin with our warm up
Now for PE today we are going to do a yoga session, you don't need much space and its a very quiet exercise which you need lots of concentration to do. The children should watch the video carefully and follow the movements extending their arms and legs and following the story carefully. 'We're going on a Bear Hunt' is one of the children's favourite stories and hopefully some of them may remember the author of the book as we have discussed this during the week as we made links between our story 'We're going on a leaf hunt' and the bear hunt and how some of the vocabulary differs.
I hope you enjoyed that and you managed to stay focused for the whole session, now you have finished how does your heart feel through your chest, has it changed? Has your breathing changed? Has your body changed in temperature? Why do you think theses changes have happened?
Now it is time for your cool down, it is so important to cool down you body and muscles after doing exercise, make sure you have a big drink after you have finished, it is so important to stay hydrated
That is the morning all done and it is time for lunch! Have your self a big lunch you have earned it after your busy morning exercising!
See you for this afternoons learning!
