Morning Task

Today's morning task is a reading task, first we would like the children to read their reading book which we sent on Monday, if you were not in and do not have a book then we would like you to access your Bug club account online and select a book for your child to read, if you cannot remember your details then please ask and we will get them for you. We would like your child to read their book using their phonics knowledge, segmenting and blending skills and some should be sight reading by memory. At each page please ask your child a question, these questions show if your child understands what they have read and comprehension is so important, most of the books will have pre written questions on the inside cover or the back page of the book. Bug club online has a button which the children can click which will give  them a question to answer digitally, I have also attached some questions ideas for you below.

We often use phonics play at school and they have some excellent phonics games for the children to access and these can be at various levels so perfect for each child. Due to school closures phonics play have made their website free for all parents, I have put the login details below for you to use, please choose the correct phase which your child is working at and they can access which ever games they wish. Some focus on sounds, reading words and memory words, if you need any support accessing this please ask and we will help you smiley

As we stated in the week our curriculum is 'play based' and the children spend half of the day accessing independent activities which are facilitated by adults, it is still vital that the children get these skills even when at home, the children can play independently, with adults and their siblings it teaches them many skills. I have attached this half terms objectives which we have been working on for you to look at, if you have any questions then please ask.
