Good morning Year 1! I hope you have had a lovely weekend and are ready for a new week of learning! Thank you for all of your hard work last week - let's make this one another fabulous week of learning! Please remember to send your work in daily to your teachers. Before we start our learning today, we are going to relax with some Cosmic Kids Yoga!
Hopefully we are now calm and ready to begin our learning. We will begin today with our phonics. In phonics, we are focusing on tricky words. Follow the flipchart to complete the activities.
In English, we are continuing with our work on Owl Babies.
This week in English we will be writing a non-chronological report about Barn Owls. Today we are going to be identifying the features of a non-chronological report using a WAGOLL.
Break time (10:30 - 10:45)
Well done Year 1, you are doing a great job, now time for a well-deserved break.
Grab yourself a drink and a snack and give yourself a brain break
Today in Maths, we are learning about position and direction. We are going to be exploring the language of forwards, backwards, left and right.
Numbers and Patterns (11.45-12.00)
Today in Numbers and Patterns we are learning about finding one more than a given number using a 100 square.
Lunch (12.00- 1.00)
Reading Skills (1.00-1.30)
Today in Reading Skills we are beginning our new text for the week - 'Cave Baby'. Throughout the week, we will be answering different VIPERS questions. We are starting off by looking at the front cover of the book and making a prediction about what we think it will be about.
SMSC (1:45 - 3:00)
In SMSC, we are learning about how to keep safe in our homes.
Today's story time is a book called 'The Koala Who Could' read by Miss Curtis. Sit back and enjoy some relaxation after all of your hard work.
