Monday 11th January
Good morning Year 1! :) I hope you have all had a lovely restful weekend and are ready for a fun filled week of home learning. Thank you to all of you who sent in your work last week - it is great to see you have been working so hard! Please remember to send your work in daily to your teachers.
Before we start our learning today, we are going to wake ourselves up with some Just Dance.
Phonics – (9-9:30)
Hopefully we are now awake and ready to learn. We will begin our learning today with some phonics. In phonics we are focusing on the diagraph 'ea' as in beak and bead . Follow the flipchart to complete the activities.
In English, we are continuing with our work on Owl Babies. This week, we are going to be retelling the story in our own words. Today, we will be focusing on the sequence of the story making sure we know what happens at the beginning, middle and end.
Break time (10:30 - 10:45)
Well done Year 1, you are doing a great job, now time for a well-deserved break. Grab yourself a drink and a snack and give yourself a brain break.
In Maths, we are learning all about tens and ones as part of our work on Place Value. We will be using base 10 to represent numbers, and we will be developing our understanding of how tens and one are represented as numerals.
Numbers and Patterns (11:45-12:00)
In Numbers and Patterns we are learning number bonds to 6. We are finding out how to remember them systematically, and will be completing some missing number problems.
Lunch time (12:00-1:00)
This week for your reading skills lessons we are going to be looking at the story 'The Queen's hat'. You are going to be answering VIPERS questions about the story. Today, you are going to use your prediction skills. Use the flipchart and video to help you.
Today in SMSC we are going to be looking at who keeps us safe.
For today's story we have 'The Selfish Crocodile. We hope you enjoy.
Another super day of learning Year 1. Well done!
Remember to keep sending in your home learning to your teacher.
