We ended the Autumn Term with 97.1% attendance

Monday 1st February

Good morning Year 1! I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are ready for a new week of learning! A huge well done and thank you for all your continued hard work last week - let's make this another week of fabulous learning with lots of fun along the way. 

Please remember to send your work in daily to you class teachers. Your work should be uploaded to your class dojo portfolio after each lesson completed so that it can be marked by your teacher and progress given.

Before we start with our learning today we are going to make sure we are awake and ready for the day with some Just Dance.

Children's Mental Health Week Assembly (9:10-9:30)

 

This morning we will be taking part in a class assembly to introduce this week's focus on Children's Mental Health. We will have the assembly in place of Phonics this morning. 

On Friday afternoon this week we will be completing learning based around the theme of 'express yourself'. 

Please log on to Teams and access the assembly that can be found in the calendar.  

English (9:30-10:30) 

 In English today we will begin our published write. We will start to write our non-chronological report all about barn owls using our work from last week. 

Today we will focus on writing the title, introductory paragraph and a paragraph about what they look like

Remember your published write forms part of your assessment so remember to include all those Year 1 skills. 

Monday 1st February

Break time (10:30-10:45)

A fabulous start to the morning Year 1. You are all doing an amazing job. If you haven't already done so, remember to  upload and send your morning work through to your class portfolio

It's time for a well earned break. Go and grab yourself a drink and a healthy snack and give yourself a brain break. 

Maths (10:45-11:45)

In Maths, we are going to be learning to count in our multiples of 2, 5 and 10. 

We will be looking at using repeated addition, arrays and applying to problem solving and reasoning.

 

Today we will begin by anchoring our learning and completing a number of practical activities.

This week we are having a slight change to the daily reading skills slot.

During this time slot, on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday we would like you to log into Bug Club and read one of your allocated stories, answering the questions along the way. You should all have your log in details for this, but if you have misplaced them then please get in touch with your class teacher. If you are having trouble accessing the site then we ask that you please read a story of your own from home. It would be lovely to see videos of you reading uploaded to your portfolio. 

On Tuesday and Thursday you will  complete reading skills as we have done previously. 

SMSC (2:00-2:45)

 Today in SMSC, we will be learning about how to stay safe when crossing the roads.
