Good Morning and Happy Morning everyone, we hope you all had a lovely and relaxing weekend and have found ways to keep yourselves entertained As a reminder work should be sent daily to your class teacher, it is important we see all tasks set and that way we can give feedback as we would in school and this gives next steps for the children to work on, as always if you have any questions or queries please ask that is what we are here for
This morning we want you to start by waking up your brains and getting ready for a fun and full week of learning so we have put on one of our favourite videos to start the day!
After the usual discussions of the days of the week, the day it was yesterday and what day it is tomorrow, and what the weather is like today, we would like the children to focus on the months of the year, can the children say the months of the year in the correct order? We have added our months of the year song below for the children to practise.
Now we are going to work on our letter formation, the children are making lots of progress with their pre cursive handwriting but there are still areas which the children need to continue to develop. The children forming ascenders and descenders is often commented on and is something we will continue to practise, I have attached a video to help with pre cursive letter formation.
Some children are still working on their formation of the pre writing shapes, from our bubble closure you should know if your child is still working on these and this is something they need to continue to work on, if you are unsure if your child can form them then quickly check, it is important they can form the shapes before being letter formation.
If your child is still working on there name writing then please focus on this and the correct pre cursive formation of the letters in their name, this is what we have been working on daily in school. If your child is forming all letters in their name correctly then please practise all pre cursive letters and make note of those letters which they are struggling with, as always the children should always write on a line, starting on the line in one fluid motion.
Now it is time for this mornings Phonics session
