We ended the Autumn Term with 97.1% attendance


Here is today's number and patterns work if you cannot make your classes session at 12:30, please join the meeting before then as we start promptly at the set time.

To begin we always start by counting, depending on your child this can be to 10, 20, 30 or beyond! smiley

The children now count from any number, you say the number and they continue to count, this really helps with their mental maths skills.

Have a look at the number grid below, what numbers can you see and recognise?

As always have a look at shapes, you should now know which shape names and properties your child needs to continue to focus on.

Today is all about sharing, it is a new concept so it may take some explaining and lots of practical work. I have made a video to support with this.

FS2 Maths Task Sharing and Reasoning

To practise the children and their sharing skills use only even numbers of objects so: 2,4,6,8 and 10 and get the children to share between two things so this could be two people, two toys or two dolls etc... They then should be able to say if it is shared fairly and know that shared also means to have the same or to be equal.

If your child is confident they can use the diagrams below to say how many of each food each bear will have to show they have shared fairly.

Now it is time for your imaginative play session, like we have also said this is to develop the children in many ways and is what the children at school will also be accessing.
