I have noticed from work sent in that some of the children are still struggling to form some numbers correctly, so that is today's main focus.
First begin with counting, I know lots of you have been counting to such big numbers like 100!
Have a look at the video below, what numbers can see in the environment?
Remember to practise counting from any number up to 10 and if your child is confident up to 20, it is so important for the children's mental maths skills.
Also practise recapping shapes, 3D shapes is a focus particularly properties of the 3D Shapes .
To practise their number formation, please do not show the children the numbers to copy they should be writing them from memory. Say each number from either 0-10 or 0-20 depending on your child's ability, say the numbers in a random order this will show a true indication of what numbers then can write independently.
I have attached the number rhymes, should your child need them, if your child does write a number wrong then they need to practise it for form it correctly. The number rhymes show how we form our numbers as they can differ, any questions please do ask
Now you have finished your numbers and patterns session please enjoy your session of imaginative play.
