Good Afternoon! We hope you all had a lovely lunch time and ate something delicious If you have not yet said 'Good Afternoon' via dojo or sent this mornings work via portfolio please do that as soon as you can.
As always to begin our numbers and patterns sessions we start by counting, we like to do it whilst being active such as jumping jacks, stomping, clapping and touching our nose. The children should also now be confident with counting from any number such as saying 6 and the children carrying on counting from there.
From work we have received we are so impressed with the children's number recognition, so keep focusing on numbers to twenty.
We have also been blown away by the children's number formation that has been sent in to us, now it is all about perfecting the number formation, making sure all numbers are the same size, are facing the correct way and that lines are straight.
Now a quick recap of our shapes:
Today is about weigh and the children understanding the different ways we can measure objects. To begin use the video below to recap for the children, particularly the vocabulary of heavy and light.
Below is an interactive game for the children to show their weight knowledge.
To finish can the children think abstractly about weight? Which one is heavier/lighter?
That is numbers and patterns done, it time for you to enjoy your imaginative play session, we cannot wait to see what you get up too
