Welcome back to your afternoon learning
To begin your Numbers and Patterns session this afternoon we want you to go onto a number and shape hunt around your house and garden to see what you can find. You may want to make a tally like below so I can see what numbers and shapes you found around your house.
Now to do some counting, what number can you count to?
Todays focus is ordering numbers, so you may want to write each number on a different pieces of paper for the children to order independently into the correct order, you may start with 0-5 then 0-10 and then 0-20. Ordering numbers is a skill which will help develop the children's one more and one less knowledge and also their addition and subtraction skills.
Once the children have completed that I have found an interactive game for them to enjoy which contains many mathematical skills such as counting and ordering numbers, I hope you enjoy it
Now is time for the children to access learning through play, this should be with toys, dolls and other games which you have at home, this is not a time for technology and for the children to be on an Ipad, they need to be engaging in imaginative play and conversing with others. If you need some support with this part of the children's learning then please just ask
