“Children and young people need to be empowered to keep themselves safe – this isn’t just about a top-down approach. Children will be children – pushing boundaries and taking risks. At a public swimming pool we have gates, put up signs, have lifeguards and shallow ends, but we also teach children how to swim.”

Wow! What a fantastic day of learning by every single child at Waterside Primary School. As a school we held some fantastic, engaging activities around online safety and how to stay safe on the Internet. It is very important that the children follow the SMART rules.
At Waterside we take E-Safety very seriously and we pride ourselves on taking a lead in teaching our students how to use new technology safely. As a school we are increasing student awareness of issues relating to online safety.
Please see pictures below of the children taking part in there Internet Safety.
All of our pupils follow the SMART rules when using the internet.
