Good morning Year 1! :) Its Friday! You have completed another week of fantastic home learning and we are so proud of you all. Thank you to all of you who sent in your work yesterday - it is great to see you have been working so hard! Please remember to send your work in daily to your teachers. Before we start our learning today, we are going to count backwards from 100 with Jack Hartman to get our brains warmed up.
Hopefully we are now awake and ready to learn. We will begin our learning today with some phonics. In phonics we are learning the split digraph 'a_e', as in 'snake'. Follow the flipchart to complete the activities.
In English, we are continuing with our work on Owl Babies.
This week, we are going to be writing a non-chronological report all about Barn Owls. Today, we are writing about where Barn Owls live, focusing on using the skill of conjunctions.
Today in Maths, we are going to be continuing our work on position and direction. We will be using what we have learnt to write a set of instructions.
Numbers and Patterns (11.45-12.00)
Today, in Numbers and Patterns we are going to be practising all we have learnt this week.
Lunch (12.00- 1.00)
Reading Skills (1.00-1.30)
Today in Reading Skills we are going to continue to look at the story 'Cave Baby'. We are going to look at some more VIPERS questions.
Computing (1.45 - 2.15)
For computing this week you are going to be using Purple Mash to complete a 2DO. Your task for today is to create an Internet Safety poster. Log onto your purple mash account and click on the 2DO - launch the app and create your own poster explaining how to stay safe on the internet.
Design and Technology (2.15 - 3.00)
Today, we are continuing to make our landmark that we started last week. If you have already finished making it, you will need to look at it and think about how it can be improved.
Today's story is called 'Aliens Love Underpants' and its time to relax, unwind and get ready for the weekend where you can switch off from your school work and do things that you enjoy. Have a lovely weekend Year 1 - stay safe, keeping smiling and shining.
