Friday 15th January
Good morning Year 1! :) We made it to Friday! Well done everyone for your hard work over the past week, you have really excelled yourselves and we are so proud of you. Thank you to all of you who sent in your work yesterday, Please remember to send your work in daily to your teachers. Before we start our learning today, we are going to wake ourselves up with some Just Dance.
Phonics – (9-9:30)
Hopefully we are now awake and ready to learn. We will begin our learning today with some phonics. In phonics we are focusing on memory words today. Follow the flipchart to complete the activities.
In English, we are continuing with our work on Owl Babies.
Today we are going to publish our retell of Owl Babies using all of our skills from this week.
Break time (10:30 - 10:45)
Well done Year 1, you are doing a great job, now time for a well-deserved break. Grab yourself a drink and a snack and give yourself a brain break.
In Maths today, we are learning about ordinal numbers. We are learning how to read and write ordinal numbers, and we will be using them to describe the position of objects.
Numbers and Patterns (11:45-12:00)
In Numbers and Patterns, we are learning number bonds to 10.
Lunch time (12:00-1:00)
Today is the last day that we are looking at 'The Queen's hat'. You are going to be answering VIPERS questions about the story. I hope you have enjoyed the story this week and are ready for a new story next week.
This week in RE we will be learning all about sacred books and how different religions treat their sacred books.
Today's story is 'Zog' by Julia Donaldson. Sit back, relax and get ready for the weekend after your hard work this week.
