The Nothing Poem
When children come home at the end of the day,
The question they’re asked as they scurry to play Is,
“Tell me, what did you do today?”
And the answer they give makes you sigh with dismay
“Nothing, I did nothing today?”
Perhaps nothing means that I put all of my efforts,
into counting to one hundred with Mrs. Bickerton-Dean.
Maybe I painted a picture of red and blue,
Or heard a story about a mouse that flew.
Maybe today was the very first time
That my scissors followed a very straight line.
Maybe I led a song from beginning to end,
Or played with a special brand new friend.
When you’re only 5 or 6 and your heart has wings,
NOTHING can mean so many things!
Everyday the Dragonflies are encouraged to listen intently, to work together and get along so that they can have fun and learn new things like reading, writing, maths, science and art. They can do all these things by being at school everyday, being good friends to one another, following our rainbow rules and always trying our best to do better than before.
The staff in Dragonflies are:
Mrs.Bickerton-Dean (Class Teacher) Miss. Lynne (Teaching assistant) Mrs. Foster (1-1 support)
