Diwali Day at Waterside Monday 31st October 2016
Yesterday we celebrated Diwali at Waterside with a day of fun and informative lessons to ensure that the whole school understood the significance of this festival for our Hindu community.
The day started with a whole school Diwali assembly where we heard the story of Rama and Sita and children who had celebrated the 'Festival of Lights' with their family came out to tell the rest of the school all about it.
The children then went back to class to enjoy many exciting activities - have a look at the photos below!
We were luck enough to have a visitor come to spend the day at Waterside, Mel Vaughn who has spent some time living and working in India, and during the day she visited all of the classes to share her wonderful photographs and experiences of life in India. All the children had a super day and are looking forwards to next years celebrations!
