WELCOME TO WATERSIDE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Waterside Primary School is an innovative, forward thinking school based in Stoke on Trent where all learners are empowered to achieve their dreams, where we believe everyone has the potential to be extraordinary. We have a world class team that work relentlessly to make every day a magical day of learning that suits every child's needs to ensure they make rapid gains not only as a learners across the curriculum but as an individuals prepared for the 21st and 22nd century living and world we live in. It is our duty and privilege as a school to make a difference every day.
I am Mrs Knowles, Head Teacher of Waterside Primary School. I have been at Waterside since 2007, as a strategic leader and a proud Head Teacher since April 2013 (time flies when your having fun!). At Waterside we are forward thinking and nationally have supported a number of schools. Our school is successful as we show determination to be the best we all can, using our relentless resilience and GRIT to action any areas that need improvement underpinned by a loving, caring family approach. I am delighted to say in July 2014 and July 2015 the school was recognised as being in the top 1% of the country for progress. We were also in the top 100 schools for attainment. In 2016, the school also performed in many areas in the top 10%, the new top category. This is down to the hard work and positive attitudes to achieve of all our fantastic children and dedicated parents, staff and governors; with the support of our community as one. In 2014 we received a 'good' status from Ofsted and had annual reviews by the local authority inspection team in 2015, 2016 and 2017 which have all been graded outstanding in all four areas of the Ofsted framework. We eagerly await the next inspection to share why we believe we are now outstanding.
At Waterside Primary School we provide an excellent foundation for your children to develop as individuals and are committed to enabling all pupils to fulfil their potential. We hold dear important values such as mutual respect for one another regardless of age, gender, religion and academic ability. We hold dearly the British values and are proud to be British citizens. At Waterside - Every child really does matter and we make a difference to every child.
The aim of our provision is to encourage and foster a love for learning. We believe that this is the key to academic success and are continually striving to improve outcomes for our families.
No appointments are necessary the doors are always open, so come and along and see first hand the magic of our school. We hope that you enjoy looking at our website and look forward to meeting you soon.

The Waterside Vision - The Starfish Story
This video is a modern adaptation of the "Starfish Story" originally written by Loren Eiseley in 1969. It's a story about how important making a difference in people's lives, even if it is just one. At Waterside we make a difference to every single child by mentoring and embracing learning with them.
