The Sex and Relationships Curriculum is currently under consultation.
As the newsletter outlines, as always at Waterside we pride ourselves in partnership and communication to ensure a quality education.
From September 2020, SRE is compulsory for all schools, including academies and faith schools. Therefore, we are consulting on our curriculum. We ask parents for consultation in writing and have offered parent consultation slots, just for SRE questions on Monday 7th June.
As some parents are unable to attend, due to EID. I can confirm an additional slot is being organised for parents. This is to allow all parents equality opportunity.
We also have extended the consultation until 4th July 2019. We ask you put your viewpoints in writing or attend a face to face meeting - booking an individual slot. Please ensure individual responses are given.
The responses we are asking for at Waterside is in line with our school policy. If you wish to respond to the governors statutory statement and policy, then please do this directly to the Department for Education as this a parliament policy and school cannot action the change of this.
To make it easier for parents to find the consultation policies, I have included the link
